NASARAWA State House of Assembly has passed into law, a bill which provides for financial autonomy to the judicial arm of government in the state.
Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, announced the passage of the bill into law during the House proceedings in Lafia on Monday.
Balarabe Abdullahi said that the bill if assented to, by the state governor will ensure the financial autonomy of the judicial arm of government.
According to him, “A Bill for a Law to Repeal and Re- Enact the Nasarawa State Judiciary Financial Management Law and Other Matters Connected Therewith is read the third time and passed”
“The law is to assist the Judiciary to carry out its responsibilities effectively,” he said.
The Speaker directed Clerk to the House to produce a clean copy of the bill for governor Sule’s assent.
“May I request the Clerk to produce a clean copy of the bill for the purpose of vetting before transmitting to His Excellency, the Executive Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule for assent,” the speaker said
Earlier, Hon Daniel Ogazi, the Deputy Majority Leader of the House moved a motion for the bill to scale third reading and was seconded by the Minority Leader of the House, Hon. Abel Bala.
