National Youth Service Corps Introduces Digital ID Card for Corps Members

Date:

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has introduced a digital identity card for corps members as part of efforts to strengthen identification and modernize its operations across Nigeria. The initiative is aimed at improving verification processes and reducing cases of impersonation within the scheme.

According to the scheme, the digital ID card can be generated and downloaded directly from a corps member’s personal dashboard on the official NYSC portal. Once downloaded, the identification card can be stored on a mobile device or printed for physical use whenever necessary.

The introduction of the digital ID is expected to provide corps members with easier and more convenient access to their official identification during their service year. It will also allow organizations, employers and security agencies to quickly confirm the identity and status of corps members.

NYSC said the new system forms part of ongoing efforts to digitize its services and improve transparency within the programme. The move comes amid growing concerns about cases of forged call-up letters and individuals impersonating corps members.

With the digital ID card now available, corps members are encouraged to log into the NYSC portal and generate their identification card for use during official assignments and other activities throughout their service year.
