Congo head coach, Barthelemy Ngatsono, has urged his players to remain fully focused when they face Nigeria in their final Group D clash at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Ngatsono’s men are still in search of their first victory at the tournament, having drawn both of their opening fixtures. They currently sit second in the group with two points and must defeat Nigeria to guarantee a place in the quarter-finals.
The Home Eagles, already eliminated after two straight defeats, will be playing for pride in the encounter at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam, on Tuesday.
Ngatsono warned that despite Nigeria’s struggles, they remain a dangerous side.
“We respect Nigeria, but they are like a wounded lion. They will play with pride, so we must be sharper and stay focused,” he told CAFonline.
Kick-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. Nigerian time.
