Rapper Nicki Minaj has publicly accused fellow artist and music executive Jay-Z of owing her up to $200 million, allegedly linked to unpaid equity from the sale of music streaming platform Tidal.
In a post shared Tuesday on her X (formerly Twitter) account, Minaj claimed the debt is accumulating interest and urged Jay-Z to contact her to settle the matter.
“We’ve calculated about 100-200MM so far. #JayZ call me to settle this karmic debt. It’s only collecting more interest. You still in my Top 5 tho. Let’s get it,” she wrote.
Minaj has previously expressed frustration over what she described as being shortchanged in the Tidal equity distribution, especially after the platform’s 2021 sale to Square, Inc. (now known as Block, Inc.).
Tidal was originally acquired in 2015 by a group of artists led by Jay-Z, who reportedly promised partial ownership stakes to several collaborators, including Minaj. Details of the equity arrangements have largely remained private.
Jay-Z has not responded publicly to Minaj’s latest claims.
The allegations have stirred reactions across social media, though no legal action has been announced by either party as of press time.
Representatives for both Minaj and Jay-Z have yet to issue official statements.
