Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has described her nomination for the 2025 Women’s Ballon d’Or as nothing short of a miracle.

The 24-year-old, who becomes the first African female goalkeeper to earn the nomination, said the recognition validates her years of hard work and sacrifice.

Nnadozie’s stellar performances for both Paris FC and the Nigerian women’s national team paved the way for the honour. She guided Paris FC to the Coupe de France Féminine title before departing the French side in May.

She then played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title in Morocco in 2024, where she was named the Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament.

“It is a miracle for me. It shows that all the hard work, dedication and everything I’ve been doing in the past has been worth it,” Nnadozie told BBC Sport.
