Obadio hails Ooni Ogunwusi’s unity campaign

The Obadio Agbaye, in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Oba Olajide Farotimi Faloba, has commended the Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi-Ojaja II for turning around the fortunes of the ancient Ife-land.

The Obadio, made this commendation in an exclusive interview with ROYAL NEWS on Friday at the Oduduwa Temple in Ile-Ife.

Oba Faloba noted that, since the emergence of Oba Ogunwusi, the entire Ile-Ife land has put on a new look which always calls for visitation by the visitors from all walks of life.

The traditional ruler also lauded the efforts of the famous Ooni towards peaceful coexistence among the Yoruba race.

“Oba Ogunwusi is a unique, amiable, God fearing and wonderful Oba who loves all and sundry, he involves everyone of us in his day to day activities towards the upliftment of not onlyIle-Ife Kingdom but the entire Yoruba speaking communities.

“The Ooni has made efforts as well in bringing all Yoruba speaking traditional rulers together. He used to say that, “I want demonstration of peace and unity among the Yorubas, we are all one and we shall continue to be one for the betterment of our Father’s land”, Obadio stated.

Oba Faloba who called on sons and daughters of the ancient town to join hands with Oba Ogunwusi in his intention of transforming Ile-Ife and it’s environs prayed that Olodumare would continue to support him and gives him long life with good health.

The Obadio Agbaye also commended the state governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for his unflinching support to the promotion of tradition and culture since he assumed duty, however condemned in totality some monarchs running away from their culture and tradition, adding that, tradition and culture are not together and the two did not stop anyone to practice the religion of their choice.
