The Interim National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, has dismissed speculations about a possible joint presidential ticket between Peter Obi and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Tuesday, Tanko stated firmly,

“That topic hasn’t even come up. People are speculating, but there’s no such talk now.”

He, however, confirmed that consultations are ongoing with like-minded political parties and stakeholders across the country.

According to him, any alliance must be built around national interest, not elite political arrangements. He emphasized that the movement’s current goal is to build a credible coalition grounded in integrity, inclusiveness, and service to Nigerians.

Tanko also reiterated that Obi remains committed to democratic principles and integrity.

“If a coalition agreement requires him to serve only one term, he will honour it. He’s a man of his word,” he added.

The Obidient Movement has continued to expand its reach nationwide as conversations around the 2027 elections begin to take shape.
