Osun Amotekun Commander Honours Police Invitation In Abuja

Date:

The Corps Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, Dr. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, has honoured an invitation from the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.

A statement issued by the Osun Amotekun Public Relations Officer, Yusuf Idowu Abass, and obtained by DAILY POST on Friday, confirmed that Omoyele voluntarily appeared at the Force Headquarters on Thursday.

His appearance follows the ongoing investigation into the killings in Akinlalu, which involved some personnel of the Osun Amotekun Corps. The commander had earlier been invited by the Osun State Police Command over the incident.

Omoyele recently disclosed that he narrowly escaped an assassination attempt by unidentified gunmen on October 6, during which he sustained injuries. He reportedly completed medical treatment and was discharged earlier this week.

According to the statement, “Upon regaining fitness, he personally appeared at the Force Headquarters as promised to provide clarifications on matters connected to the ongoing investigation into the Akinlalu incident.”

Sources within the security outfit confirmed that Omoyele was neither arrested nor detained, contrary to reports circulating online.

“The Corps Commander voluntarily honoured the police invitation after his recovery and was never arrested. He has continued to cooperate fully with the investigating authorities,” Abass clarified.

He added that Dr. Omoyele remains a disciplined and law-abiding officer committed to justice and accountability in security operations.

The statement urged the public to disregard unverified rumours and avoid spreading misinformation about the situation.

The Osun Amotekun Corps reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and continued collaboration with law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and order across the state.
