The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has arrived the venue of the 39th convocation ceremonies of the Bayero University Kano.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, who is aalso the Chancellor of the University is represented at the ongoing gathering by the Ciroman Ilorin, Barr. Abubakar Bature Sulu-Gambari SAN.

At the event is the Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Saif Ahmad, Pro-Chancellor of the University, Alhaji Nasiru Gawuna, former Minister for Education, Prof. Ruqayyat Rufai as well as prominent members of the University Community.

Recall that the Convocation Lecture eas delivered on Friday by the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Khalil Suleiman Halilu.

Halilu spoke on the topic: “Innovation and Entrepreneurship: A Pathway to National Development.” The lecture will be delivered by Khalil Sulaiman Halilu, the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of NASENI, with Chief Uche Jeoffrey Nnaji, Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, as the Chairman.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, had earlier revealed that a total of 4,404 graduands will receive their Degrees, Diplomas, and Certificates while on February 13, another 4,367 graduates from seven faculties were conferred with their degrees, including 176 First Class holders, 275 PhDs, 2,590 Master’s degrees, and 535 Postgraduate Diplomas.

He said: “The convocation marks a significant milestone in the academic journey of our students, and we are excited to celebrate their academic achievements.”

He also highlighted the university’s pride in the success of its graduates and their future contributions to society.

Also today, Saturday 15th February 2025,the university wilë confer Honorary Doctorate Degrees on Colonel Sani Bello (Rtd.) and Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano for their outstanding contributions to society.

Finally, BUK will bestow the prestigious Emeritus Professor titles on three distinguished retired scholars: Professor Garba Dahuwa Azare, Professor Julius Afolabi Falola, and Professor Musa Mohammed Borodo, in recognition of their invaluable academic legacies.
