The Rivers State Police Command says it has arrested four suspected members of an armed robbery and kidnapping syndicate operating in Bori, headquarters of Khana Local Government Area, and surrounding communities.
Police spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the arrests in a statement on Sunday, describing the operation as a “major breakthrough” in the fight against violent crimes.
According to the command, the suspects — identified as Solomon Chris, 26; Fabulous John, 26; Wisdom Kalongo, 30; and Wisdom Samuel, 33 — were apprehended on Friday, August 8, 2025, at about 11:30 a.m. during a routine patrol by operatives from the Bori Division.
Iringe-Koko said the arrests followed a distress call reporting suspicious activities along Nkpee Street in Bori. Items recovered from the suspects included a locally made revolver pistol, one live round of ammunition, quantities of hard drugs (“loud”), criminal charms, and an ash-coloured Toyota Sienna with registration number BNY-758FS.
She added that the suspects are in custody while efforts are ongoing to track down fleeing members of the gang and recover additional weapons.
The command urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding lives and property in the state.
