A Superintendent of Police attached to the Ekiti State Police Command, Mr. Idowu Taiwo, has been killed.
Our correspondent gathered that Taiwo, who until his death was the Officer-in-Charge of Finance at the Ekiti State Police Command, had earlier been abducted by some hoodlums on Sunday.
He was found dead on Monday in a car by the roadside in Ado Ekiti.
Sources said he was abducted in the Ologede area of Ado Ekiti on Sunday by some men, who stormed the community.
The Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Police Command, Mr. Alberto Adeyemi, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Monday.
He said, “It is a sad development. He was taken away from where he was in the Ologede area and was later found dead in the Ajebamidele area of the same Ajilosun.
“His remains was left in a car in the Ajebamidele area of the town.”
Adeyemi said no arrest had been made, addding that investigations into the case had started.
In a related development, the state Head of Service, Dr Olugbenga Faseluka, said the government would probe the death of a man allegedly shot by robbers along Ikere–Ise Road on Saturday.
