The Director General, NILDS, Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman, has been conferred with the “Distinguished GovTech Trailblazer Award” by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, (BPSR), under The Presidency.
Also, the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies,NILDS National Assembly won the “Best Federal MDA In Digital Engagement”, Award, as contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the Special Adviser to the Director General, Mohammed Mohammed.
NILDS received the awards at the grandfinale of the 2024 NigGovTech, Public Service Conference and Awards dinner held at the Nicon Luxury Hotel Abuja.
The Conference which had as its theme: “Digital Innovation as a Catalyst for the Renewed Hope Agenda, attracted awardees from Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs as well as the Three Arms of government in various categories of awards.
Represented by the Director of Studies, Dr. Asimiyu Abiola, the NILDS DG was honoured by the Deputy Governor of Niger State Mallam Yakubu Garba.
Tbe organizer said: “The Institute which is statutorily empowered to carry out capacity building for the Federal Legislature and Parliamentarians at Sub-nation’s levels bagged the awards in recognition of the DG’s contributions to the National efforts towards total attainment of digitalisation of the public sector.
“NILDS Paperless Operational Performance remains a Catalyst for Improved Service Delivery in the system, which is deserving of the awards. It is also on record that the leadership of NILDS had received “Integrity and Public Servant of the year 2023 award.”
Prof. Sulaiman was therefore commended for sustaining the momentum in digitalisation in the public enterprise towards maintaining a pride of place for the country among the comity of fully digitalized nations.
