Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi has publicly denied rape allegations made against him, describing them as false and damaging to his reputation and family.
Speaking out for the first time, Hakimi said the claims have caused significant distress, particularly because of their impact on his young children.
“For me, it was difficult and it continues to be,” the Morocco international said. “When you write lie after lie, it hurts, especially for my family.”
Hakimi noted that while his children are too young to understand the reports now, they may one day read about the accusations.
“My children are still young. They don’t know the internet and they can’t read. But one day, they’re going to read this kind of thing,” he said.
“And for me, seeing that these lies have been written about their father is not pleasant. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.”
The allegations first surfaced in 2023, sparking widespread media attention and scrutiny of the PSG full-back, who has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
Hakimi, 26, remains a key figure for both PSG and the Moroccan national team while legal proceedings continue.
