The founder of the One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has called on Nigerians, regardless of their social, tribal, or political affiliations, to support President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

In a statement released on Friday in Ibadan, Oyo State, Maharaj Ji also urged the Department of State Services (DSS) not to arrest Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, over comments attributed to him regarding the 2027 polls.

Maharaj Ji described Adeyemo as a committed human rights advocate and warned against exaggerating his statements. He said that expressing strong opinions on national issues should not automatically lead to threats of arrest or intimidation.

He added that Adeyemo’s actions and statements should be seen within the framework of advocacy rather than incitement.

The comments come after the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) called on the DSS to summon or arrest Adeyemo, citing a viral video in which he allegedly warned that political opponents of Tinubu, including Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, should not campaign in Yoruba land. HURIWA described the remarks as “dangerous, unlawful and capable of inciting political violence.”

Responding, Maharaj Ji stressed that democracy thrives when citizens can speak freely, and silencing voices like Adeyemo’s could undermine justice, fairness, and freedom of expression.

He urged Nigerians to remain calm and avoid politicizing the controversy, emphasizing dialogue, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence across the country.

Maharaj Ji further praised Tinubu for his leadership, resilience, and global political acumen, describing his policies as geared toward long-term development and national stability. He called for continuity in leadership to sustain progress and strengthen unity, especially in addressing challenges caused by previous leadership deficits.

He encouraged Nigerians, particularly youths and students, to ignore negative narratives against the President and to support constructive nation-building efforts rather than fostering division and political hostility.

Concluding, Maharaj Ji reiterated that unity, cooperation, and continued backing of the government are essential for lasting peace, stability, and prosperity in Nigeria.
