Bella Shmurda Opens Up on Past Financial Struggles

Date:

Nigerian Afrobeats star Bella Shmurda has revealed how poor financial decisions almost led him to bankruptcy during an earlier stage of his career.

In a recent interview with Nigerian YouTuber Korty EO, the singer admitted that the sudden fame and wealth he experienced led to excessive spending and misplaced priorities.

“I used to have a lot of money but I rushed things. I wish I was wise then,” Bella reflected, acknowledging how quickly he exhausted his earnings.

He explained that his lifestyle included extravagant purchases, many of which proved unnecessary. “I was just buying things extravagantly, things I eventually had no need for,” he said.

Bella also revealed that trying to accommodate a large circle of friends added to his financial strain. “I was accommodating up to ten of my friends back then, and we were all receiving female visitors,” he said.

The singer recounted that he once bought three cars simultaneously so his friends could ride with him in convoy. “I was reckless,” he admitted.

Reflecting on the experience, Bella said it has significantly reshaped his approach to money. “At this point, as I am getting new money, I have to think about every move I want to take,” he added.
