Veteran Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has revealed that she underwent a medical procedure to prevent further pregnancies because she did not want to have a large family.
The actress disclosed that she had her fallopian tubes tied about 26 years ago after deciding she was satisfied with the number of children she had. She made the revelation during a discussion about motherhood on her YouTube platform, Shaffy Bello TV.
According to Bello, her former husband had hoped they would expand their family, but she remained firm in her decision to stop having more children.
She explained that doctors performed the procedure through her navel, tying her fallopian tubes in order to permanently prevent pregnancy.
Reflecting on the decision, Bello said she had always been clear about the kind of family she wanted, joking that if she ever became pregnant again after the procedure, she would consider it a miracle.
