Sub-City Project Global Consult Ltd has handed over 100 brand-new tricycles to the Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN), Kwara State Chapter, in a ceremony at the company’s Ga’akanbi Subcity office.
The MD/CEO of Sub-City, Mall. Umar Tolihat Imam, said the initiative was aimed at creating sustainable employment and economic opportunities for young Nigerians. “Each tricycle represents a chance for a young person to become self-sufficient, contribute to their family’s well-being, and drive the local economy forward,” he said.
Imam emphasized that the project goes beyond providing vehicles, highlighting its focus on entrepreneurship and financial literacy. He explained that the recipients would benefit from training programs, mentorship, and support systems to help them manage their new businesses effectively.
“Today marks a monumental step towards empowering the youth in our communities,” he said, urging all stakeholders—including government, private sector partners, and civil society organizations—to collaborate in building an environment where young people can thrive.
The MD/CEO congratulated TOAN, urging members to uphold integrity, accountability, and discipline while using the tricycles to boost mobility and economic activity.
He also acknowledged key partners whose contributions made the project possible, including Zeecumbat Nig. Ltd, Moto Business Service Nigeria Ltd, Simba TVS, Eonsfleet, Boma Arc Concept, Ademola Azeez Nig. Ltd, and First Jasper Nig. Enterprises.
The event was attended by top government officials, transport sector leaders, and representatives of youth organizations, underlining the collaborative effort to enhance youth empowerment and entrepreneurship in Kwara State.
