The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has conferred the traditional title of MAJIDADIN DAULAR USMANIYYA on the former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Pantami.
Isa Ali Pantami, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) noted that the traditional title represents the entire land led by Sokoto Leaders under Usman Ibn Fodiyo and his students and was conferred during the 11th Shaykh Usman ibn Fodiyo Annual Lecture.
Pantami stated on his verified Twitter page on Saturday; “Our Royal Father, Alhaji Muhammad Saad Abubakar III, CFR, mni, Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), presented Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami), CON, PhD, with the traditional title of MAJIDADIN DAULAR USMANIYYA.
According him,”This title represents the entire land led by Sokoto Leaders under Usman ibn Fodiyo and his students and was conferred during the 11th Shaykh Usman ibn Fodiyo Annual Lecture.”
“According to the Sultan, Shaykh Isa Ali Pantami’s appointment was in recognition of his 18-year support to the Sultanate, philanthropic efforts, and scholarship grants to the poor and orphans, among other achievements. The Sultan encouraged Professor Isa Ali Pantami to continue his good work of serving humanity.”
