Super Eagles Face Tough Morocco Test at AFCON 2025 – Chelle

Date:

Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has said his team must put in maximum effort to secure victory against Morocco in their AFCON 2025 semi-final clash on Wednesday.

Nigeria, three-time African champions, will face the tournament hosts at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, in what Chelle described as their toughest test of the competition so far.

The Super Eagles are meeting a North African opponent for the third time at the tournament, having already defeated Tunisia 3-2 in the group stage and Algeria 2-0 in the quarter-finals.

Chelle’s side returned to Fès from Marrakech on Sunday after the Algeria match before traveling to Rabat on Monday, a demanding schedule ahead of the semi-final.

Despite the tight turnaround, the Malian coach insisted his players are focused and ready. “We have to work hard to win this on Wednesday,” Chelle told reporters. “The travel has been demanding, but as professionals, we have no excuses. We must be mentally ready and give our best despite the stress.”
