Super Eagles face Zanzibar in CHAN friendly today

Date:

Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles will take on Zanzibar on Monday (today) in a preparatory match ahead of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The encounter marks the first-ever meeting between the two sides at any level. The match is scheduled to kick off at 2 p.m. Nigerian time.

The Nigerian team, under the guidance of head coach Eric Chelle, arrived in Zanzibar last Thursday to continue their final preparations for the CHAN tournament, which kicks off this weekend.

Monday’s fixture is the first of two friendly matches against Zanzibar, with the second scheduled for Thursday.

Before departing for East Africa, the Eagles played three warm-up matches in Nigeria as part of their buildup to the competition.

Nigeria is drawn in Group D of the 2024 CHAN tournament, alongside defending champions Senegal, Sudan, and Congo.
