Top Nigerian official dies, buried in S’Arabia

The Federal Commissioner of the National Population Commission (NPC), representing Yobe State, Mai Aliyu Muhammed, is dead.

 

ROYAL NEWS reports that Mai Aliyu Muhammed while performing the lesser hajj (Umrah) in Saudi Arabia.

The Ag. Director, Public Affairs Department, Mrs. Nkoyo Nwakusor stated this in Abuja on Thursday night.

According to the statement, Muhammed has been buried according to the Islamic rites.

The statement read: “The National Population Commission regrets to announce the death of the Honourable Federal Commissioner representing Yobe State in the Commission, Mai Aliyu Muhammed.

“The late Mai Aliyu Muhammed passed away on 21st April 2024 while performing the lesser hajj in Saudi Arabia and has been buried according to the Islamic rites.”
