Trump Unlikely to Approve Iran’s Peace Offer

Date:

U.S. President Donald Trump has said he is unlikely to accept a new Iranian peace proposal, stating that Iran has not “paid a big enough price” and suggesting he has yet to review the final wording of the plan.

Trump made the remarks on social media while also indicating openness to reviewing the proposal’s details, though he maintained skepticism about Iran’s intentions and reiterated that any agreement would depend on further developments in the conflict.

The Iranian proposal reportedly includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz and lifting certain restrictions on Iran, while postponing nuclear negotiations. However, Washington continues to insist that Iran dismantle its highly enriched uranium stockpile as a precondition for any peace deal.

Tensions remain high across the region, with Israel intensifying operations in southern Lebanon against Hezbollah, while the broader conflict involving Iran, its allies, and Israel continues to disrupt energy routes and global markets.

The ongoing war, which began over two months ago, has drawn mixed signals from Trump, who has not ruled out further military action, even as diplomatic efforts continue through mediators to explore possible terms for de-escalation.
