Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived in London on Monday morning to coordinate the repatriation of the remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died in the UK after a prolonged illness.
In a statement shared shortly after his arrival, Shettima said his visit was on the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He was accompanied by the President’s Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
The Vice President was received in London by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.
Shettima confirmed that he would accompany the late President’s remains back to Nigeria for burial in Daura, Katsina State.
