Wolves Beat Everton, Arokodare on Target

Date:

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Vitor Pereira has praised Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare for his impressive display in the club’s 2-0 Carabao Cup victory over Everton at Molineux.

The 23-year-old forward came off the bench to seal the win, scoring his first goal for Wolves three minutes from time after latching onto Joao Gomes’ incisive pass and finishing calmly inside the box.

Marshall Munetsi had earlier put the hosts ahead in the first half, before Arokodare’s late strike ensured their progression.

Pereira expressed delight at the impact of his new signing, stressing that the goal would boost his confidence moving forward.

“Tolu has settled in really well since arriving and tonight’s goal will give him confidence,” Pereira told the club’s official website. “It’s always good for a striker to get off the mark early.”

The victory marked Wolves’ safe passage into the next round of the competition, with Arokodare’s contribution earning plaudits from fans and coaching staff alike.
