Toun Okewale Sonaiya, the founder of Women Radio on Tuesday thanked the federal government through the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development (MBNCWD) for recognising the contributions of the media outfit in the country.
She spoke at the the 2023 induction by MBNCWD held in Abuja where on some selected personalities were honoured and celebrated.

On behalf of her team, Okewale Sonaiya promised to continue to use the radio platform to amplify the voices of Nigerian women. She hopes the anticipated ministerial list will include a minimum of 35% women.
She was honoured for establishing the first and only radio station for Women in Nigeria and the only commercial radio for women in West Africa.
The Hall of Fame was set up to pay tributes to Nigerian Women for their efforts and contributions to national development.
Other inductees are Senator Fatimat Raji-Rasaki, Senator Betty Apiafi, Rt. Honourable Nkeiruka Onyejocha and Honourable Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
