Against the backdrop of the current situation in Kano State over the royal tussle, the Founder of Silverbird Group and the former Senator who represented the good people of Bayelsa East Senatorial Zone, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, has said until the courts decide who the legitimate Emir of Kano is, every courtesy that is entitled to an Emir should be extended to both parties, for the sake of peace.
He went on and made it known that it’s very wrong to demonise anyone giving respectful treatment to Emir Aminu Ado Bayero or Emir Muhammadu Sanusi.
Furthermore, the former lawmaker urged Nigerians to allow the court to decide who becomes the legitimate Emir of Kano.
He noted that a judge has the power, irrespective of his location to make a pronouncement, noting that the important thing is that he gives an upright judgement.
Senator Ben Murray-Bruce made this disclosure in a post he made on his official X handle, while reacting to the ongoing Emirship tussle in Kano State.
He went on and noted that as a former legislator that only the Kano State Government and the judiciary should resolve this matter, noting that if it leads to a breakdown of law and order, the Federal Government, should immediately and authoritatively step in for the maintenance of the rule of law in the state.

“It is wrong to demonise anyone giving respectful treatment to Emir Aminu Ado Bayero or Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II.”
