IVTEC Rector commends NATE on human capacity development

Members of the Nigeria Association of Technologists and Engineers, (NATE) Kwara State Branch, have been commended for their commitment to human capacity development and their continued maintenance of the existing cordial relationship between IVTEC and the Association in Kwara State.

According to the statement by Ige Grace,the press secretary to the Rector of the International Vocational, Technical and Entrepreneurship College (IVTEC) Engr. Yaru Salihu stated this yesterday at Ajase-Ipo while receiving members of the Association on a courtesy visit to his office. 

Engr. Salihu emphasized the need for a cordial relationship between the    two institutions to achieve their collective objectives.He stated  the critical need for both government and private sector investments in human capacity building through technical and vocational training.

He noted that sustainable national development could only be achieved when young people are equipped with practical in-demand skills that would make them self- reliant and employable.

Engr. Yaru, appreciated the leadership of the Association for recognising IVTEC as a key player in the delivery of technical education and training in Nigeria, adding that the visit to  the College is a clear demonstration to the fact that IVTEC is a force to be reckoned with in technical and vocational education in Nigeria.

Responding, the Chairman of the NATE delegation, Engr. Mahmud Saka Sholagberu, expressed  great admiration for IVTEC’s commitment to excellent skills training and manpower development. He lauded the College for producing well trained, competent and disciplined technologists and technicians for the nation.

Meanwhile, Engr. Sholagberu used the occasion to give an overview of NATE as a professional body of practicing engineers, established in 1976 and then incorporated in 1986 with the objectives of promoting self reliant, technological development in Nigeria.

According to the Chairman, the purpose of the visit was to consolidate the existing relationship between IVTEC and NATE, he then used the occasion to sensitize staff and students on the advantages of becoming registered members of NATE.

The visit concluded with a tour of the state-of-the-art training facilities at IVTEC, where the NATE team commended the investment of the Kwara State government in equipping the College with modern tools and technologies for training youths in various trades.
