“Atiku May Never Be President” Bwala Fires

Date:

Presidential aide and former spokesperson of the Atiku Abubakar 2023 campaign, Daniel Bwala, has stirred controversy by stating that his former principal may never be destined to become Nigeria’s president.

Bwala commented during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday. While speaking on the growing coalition among opposition leaders, including Atiku, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi, Bwala dismissed their chances of unseating President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

“In all honesty,” Bwala said, “I have expressed my opinion that it may never have been destined by God for him [Atiku] to be president of Nigeria, because he has done everything he needs to do, and still did not win.”

He further remarked that the 2023 election presented Atiku with his best and final opportunity.

“2023 was the biggest opportunity that my former principal had. He will never have that kind of privilege again,” he said bluntly.

Bwala, who defected to the Tinubu camp shortly after the 2023 polls, was a key spokesperson for Atiku’s campaign before switching allegiance to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

On the newly announced opposition coalition adopting the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a platform to challenge the Tinubu administration, Bwala was scathing in his assessment. He described the alliance as a “coalition of internally displaced politicians” lacking both structure and a compelling message.

“What I still find intriguing,” he noted, “is that this coalition has not been able to present alternative facts, policies, or programs. Even during Peter Obi’s recent media appearance, he failed to provide a credible counter to the policies being implemented by President Tinubu.”

Bwala’s comments are expected to generate further debate within the opposition camp, especially as the 2027 election season begins to take shape.
