Nancy Nnadi, Managing Director of EeZee Conceptz Limited, has formally retracted a previous allegation made against gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, confirming that peace talks are underway to resolve a royalty dispute between the singer and the label.
Nnadi, popularly known as Coach Nancy, made the announcement in a statement posted on her Instagram page over the weekend. She stated that her retraction was made on the advice of her legal counsel and in the interest of peace, noting that the reconciliation process is being facilitated by respected religious leaders.
“On the advice of my lawyer, and for the sake of peace and love of God, I retract my earlier post about Minister Mercy Chinwo,” she wrote. “We pray that Almighty God perfects the ongoing settlement process being facilitated by the Fathers of Faith between her and EeZee Conceptz.”
The development follows a legal dispute that began in January 2025, when Chinwo filed a lawsuit against her former record label boss, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu (known as Eezee Tee), over the alleged diversion of $345,000 in music royalties.
The lawsuit came two years after Chinwo ended her contract with EeZee Conceptz, citing unresolved financial disagreements. Amid the ongoing legal proceedings, Nnadi had publicly accused Chinwo of financial misconduct, prompting the singer to file a defamation suit against her. Chinwo also demanded a public apology and the removal of the posts from Nnadi’s social media platforms.
Nnadi’s retraction signals a potential de-escalation of the dispute as both parties explore an out-of-court resolution.
As of the time of this report, Mercy Chinwo has not issued a public response to Nnadi’s statement.
