Osimhen to Galatasaray: Napoli Seal €75m Transfer

Date:

Victor Osimhen is set to undergo a medical ahead of his permanent transfer to Galatasaray, after the Turkish giants finally met Napoli’s €75 million asking price.

The deal, finalised on Sunday just before Napoli’s Monday deadline, ends a prolonged transfer saga that stretched across the summer. Nigerian broadcaster Onyebuchi Onokala confirmed the breakthrough, stating: “Deal done: Victor James Osimhen to Galatasaray on a permanent move. Final agreement reached between Napoli and Galatasaray for €75m. Napoli gets 10 per cent of future sale. Victor battled Napoli to accept the fifth offer. Next is to make plans for medicals.”

Transfer details include:

  • A €75m release clause, with €40m paid upfront

  • €35m to be paid in instalments by June 2026

  • €5m in performance-based add-ons, per Fabrizio Romano

  • A 10% sell-on clause for Napoli

  • A ban clause restricting Galatasaray from selling Osimhen to any Serie A club in the next two years — or pay a heavy fine

The 26-year-old striker scored 37 goals and provided 8 assists in 41 matches last season on loan at Galatasaray, making his case for a permanent stay.

Negotiations were previously stalled due to Galatasaray’s failure to provide bank guarantees, a major concern for Napoli following previous financial issues in transfers involving Goran Pandev and Blerim Dzemaili in 2014.

Osimhen had earlier rejected both a return to Napoli and a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia, making it clear he wanted a future away from Serie A. His relationship with Napoli soured last season, further fuelling the push for a transfer.
