CHAN 2024: Nigeria to Face Senegal Tuesday

The 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) kicked off over the weekend with host nations and tournament favourites making solid starts in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

The 19-team tournament, which runs from 2 to 30 August, is being held across five venues in four cities within the three East African co-hosts. In the opening fixture on Saturday, Tanzania secured a 2-0 win over Burkina Faso.

Sunday saw more action as Kenya edged DR Congo 1-0, while Morocco defeated Angola 2-0. Madagascar and Mauritania played out a goalless draw.

Matchday One continues today with Niger facing Guinea and Uganda taking on Algeria. Nigeria will begin their campaign on Tuesday against defending champions Senegal, while Congo will play Sudan.
