A thorough search and investigation led to the recovery of part of the ransom money, expended shells, and live ammunition, further linking the suspects to the crime.

The case was transferred from the Divisional Police Headquarters, Okuta, to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on 28th August 2025 for further action. Investigation remains ongoing, and efforts are being intensified to apprehend the fleeing members of this criminal gang, adding that the arrested suspects will be charged to court.
