Tinubu to Commission Aba Roads October 3, Says Otti

Date:

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has announced that President Bola Tinubu will commission the newly reconstructed Port Harcourt Road in Aba, along with six other roads, on October 3, 2025.

Otti made the disclosure during a security fundraising event in Aba, where he also confirmed that the state government has signed agreements with Radisson Blu for the commencement of work on the Enyimba Hotel project. He assured that construction at the site would begin soon.

Addressing business leaders at the Aba Sports Club, the governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to security, describing it as the foundation for sustainable development. “Security is at the heart of everything we are doing. Our attention to it is critical,” he said.

Otti assured residents that funds raised for security, as well as public resources, would be carefully managed. “Every kobo of this money will be judiciously used and accounted for. Not one dime will be missing,” he said, dismissing claims of financial mismanagement.

The governor also urged Abia residents to participate in the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise to ensure eligibility for the 2027 general elections. He encouraged households to mobilize family members and neighbors to register.

Earlier, the chairman of the event, Chief Leo Ike Okoye, commended Otti’s achievements in road construction, security improvements, street lighting, and water scheme rehabilitation. He called on residents to support the governor’s development agenda.

Other stakeholders, including Ide John Udeagbala, Chief Emeka Diwe, and Mazi Jude Nwosu, pledged donations and praised the administration’s efforts to restore Aba’s prominence. They emphasized that security funding should not be left to government alone, noting that the business community must also play its part.

The Aba stakeholders explained that their contributions aimed to complement government initiatives, especially since the city’s business community was underrepresented during the launch of the security fund in Umuahia in July.
