Panic as Hotel Under Construction Collapses in Abuja’s Jikwoyi

Several people are reported trapped after a building identified as Ugo West Hotel, still under construction, collapsed in the Jikwoyi area of Abuja on Friday.

Eyewitnesses said the structure suddenly gave way, leaving workers and occupants buried under debris. Residents and passersby rushed to the scene to assist with rescue efforts, creating a scene of panic in the community.

The exact number of people trapped or injured remains unknown, as emergency responders are yet to arrive. Local volunteers have begun preliminary rescue operations, attempting to clear rubble and save those feared trapped.

Authorities have not yet released a statement on the cause of the collapse.
