El-Rufai Appears in Court as ICPC Case Hearing Resumes in Kaduna

Date:

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Monday arrived at the Kaduna State High Court as proceedings continued in his ongoing case with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

The hearing, which was initially scheduled for a bail application ruling, had earlier been adjourned to April 14 by the court.

El-Rufai is facing a 10-count charge bordering on alleged financial misappropriation and money laundering, allegations he has continued to contest.

The case is being prosecuted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission as part of its ongoing legal action against the former governor.

Before the case was transferred to the ICPC, El-Rufai was initially detained by the Department of State Services for questioning in connection with the allegations.

He was later granted temporary release to attend the burial of his mother, who passed away in March.

Court proceedings are expected to continue as the matter progresses on the adjourned hearing date.
