Buhari, others honour late perm sec as FEC meeting starts

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Wednesday, presided over the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

While some members, including Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, are joining the President at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, others are participating virtually from their offices.

At the commencement of the meeting at 10am, Buhari and members observed a minute silence in honour the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Office in the Office of the Secretary to Government of the Federation, Babatunde Lawal.

Lawal, who died on Friday, was the cabinet’s Deputy Secretary by virtue of his position in the SGF’s office.
