Gombe Govt. to partner Islamic Development Bank to fast- track education development

The Gombe State Government will Collaborate with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) to fast-track the development of permanent side of College for Legal Islamic Studies, Nafada, says Gov. Ibrahim Dankwambo.

Dankwambo stated this at the first Maiden matriculation ceremony of the collage in Nafada LGA of the state on Friday.

He said state government is investing a lot of resources in education sector to ensure that teeming youth were trained to be self-reliant and contribute their quota to the socio-economy development of the state.

Dankwambo urged the management to ensure implementation of programmes that would enhance the quality of teachers in Almajiri scholars and to organize regular refresher courses for judiciary and language teachers in the state.

He also advised the students to pay attention to their studies in order to achieve best results.

Dr Ahmed Asa’Ali, provost of the collage called on the students to focus on there academics, to be careful during their stay in the College and to avoid any unscrupulous activity as we as to be law-abiding.

He said is currently the College runs Diploma Programmes in Shari’a and Civil Law, English Language, Islamic Studies, Arabic Language and Hausa Language.

According to him, the College has intention to affiliate all its programmes to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.

He further advised the students to patronize the College clinic and to avoid temptation of self-medications.

Alhaji Muhammad Dadum-Hamza, Emir of Nafada commended the efforts of the state governor for establishing the College in his domain.

He described the College as a key for the development of the area.

The collage matriculated 432 students for 2016/2017 academic session
