The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards is set to announce its 2026 nominees on Sunday, March 29, with actor Chimezie Imo hosting the programme.
“The spotlight is on… and it’s time to get to know your nominees. Watch the #AMVCA12 Nominee Announcement LIVE | March 29 | 7PM WAT on #AfricaMagic channels,” the organisers said in a statement.
The 12th edition of the awards will feature a total of 32 categories, including 18 jury-decided awards and 11 audience-voted categories, alongside special recognition honours such as Lifetime Achievement and Trailblazer awards.
This year also introduces new categories, including Best Indigenous Language – North Africa and Best Indigenous Language – Central Africa, reflecting the AMVCA’s continued commitment to Pan-African storytelling and cultural preservation.
The main awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Lagos in May 2026.
