The Deputy National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Ayo Olorunfemi, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of failing Nigerians by normalizing insecurity and hardship since assuming power in 2015.
In an interview with TVC News, Olorunfemi claimed that kidnappings, banditry, and insurgency worsened under APC’s leadership, blaming the ruling party’s governance style for Nigeria’s deepening security crisis.
“What we are witnessing today is not accidental. It started with APC and their approach to governance. Kidnapping and violence are no longer hidden from anyone. Somebody once said if he didn’t win, monkey and baboon would soak in blood—and afterwards, people started dying, bombs started going off,” he said, referencing a controversial pre-2015 statement by the late President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to Olorunfemi, APC failed to provide decisive leadership or workable policies to secure Nigerians, instead leaving citizens vulnerable to kidnappers and armed groups.
“APC should be held responsible for the state of insecurity in the country. They have made Nigerians live with fear as if it is normal,” he added.
He maintained that the Labour Party stands as a credible alternative, committed to restoring safety and rebuilding trust among Nigerians.
