Kwara United technical adviser Suleiman Ashifat has insisted his side will continue battling to avoid relegation in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) after their goalless draw against Rangers International F.C..
The Harmony Boys were held to a 0–0 draw at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Sunday in a tightly contested encounter.
Kwara United created several chances but failed to convert, with Samsudeen Muhammed and Gidado Toheeb both missing opportunities that could have secured victory.
At the other end, goalkeeper Suraj Ayeleso produced crucial saves to keep Rangers from breaking the deadlock and ensured the match ended without goals.
Speaking after the game, Ashifat maintained that his team remains determined to retain its top-flight status.
“We will continue to fight until we overcome the hurdles and secure our place in the league,” he told the club’s media team.
Following the result, Kwara United slipped to 18th position on the table with 33 points from 30 matches.
They will next face defending champions Remo Stars F.C. in what is expected to be another crucial fixture in their fight to stay in the league.
