Bagudu releases over N3 billion for payment of 2019 gratuity, death benefits

The Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has in continuation of the payment of workers gratuity and death benefits directed for the immediate release of N3,097,013,964.47 ( Three Billion, Ninety Seven Million, Thirteen Thousand,Nine Hundred and Sixty Four Naira and Forty Seven Kobo) for the payment of State, Local Government and LGEA Staff who disengaged in 2019.

This is in addition to the earlier directive on the 17th of January, 2022 for the release of N381,778,623.68 as balance for state workers who retired from service in 2017 and 2018.

The money will be released from the N6bn which was earlier approved by the Governor while reconciliation exercise is continuing in respect of 2020 and 2021.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Kebbi State Acting Head of Service, Safiyanu Garba Bena on Wednesday.

The statement which was also in line with the present administration’s policy on the general welfare of retired workers in the State.
