Ilali Village, Katsina State – Residents of Ilali village in Katsina State have reportedly been asked to pay ₦5 million to bandits to ensure their safety during this year’s harvest.
The payment, described by villagers as a “peace levy,” is said to allow farmers access to their farmlands without fear of attack. Security analyst Bakatsine shared the development on X on Tuesday, noting that the levy is being framed as a fee for peace and safe harvesting.
Authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
