Chelsea FC have completed the signing of 20-year-old Nigerian central defender Justin Osagie following a successful trial at Stamford Bridge. The transfer fee was not disclosed.
Osagie, who joined Chelsea after his contract with Peterborough United expired, impressed academy coaches during his trial, earning a permanent deal with the Blues’ development squad. He was an unused substitute in Chelsea’s recent EFL Trophy match against Northampton Town.
The young defender began his career at Southend United, moved to West Ham United, then to Celtic, before joining Peterborough United in 2024 following another standout trial. His performances have attracted attention from top Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Osagie is eligible to represent Nigeria and the Republic of Ireland at international level, adding depth to Chelsea’s defensive prospects in both the senior and youth squads.
