The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Mai-Martaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has felicitated with IGP Usman Alkali Baba over his appointment as the new Inspector General of Police.
The monarch who described the appointment as well-deserved urged IGP Alkali to strengthen his resolve to fight crimes in the country.
In a congratulatory message signed on Wednesday by his Spokesperson, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, the Emir maintained that, “With his wealth of experience and track record, Nigeria would overcome every stumbling block.”
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari said: “We are aware of your passion for justice and truth. We are also aware that you have made considerable deposit of efforts into the nation’s security architecture among the rank and file of the Police Force and we pray that these and other outstanding qualities of yours should come to bear as a guiding light in the discharge of this Herculean and crucial national assignment.
“I therefore urge officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, the political class and the entire Nigerian citizens to support IGP Usman Alkali Baba in order to succeed in his mandates of ensuring adequate protection of lives of property in our dear country.”
