The 2025 Future Awards Africa on Sunday celebrated outstanding young achievers across the continent at a ceremony held at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos.
Now in its 19th edition, the event was themed “Threads of Legacy” and recognised emerging leaders driving impact in technology, governance, sports, entrepreneurship, entertainment, and the arts.
The ceremony, hosted by actor Mike Afolarin and media personality Azeezah Hashim, drew notable figures from entertainment, business, and public service.
Content creator Mariam “Taaooma” Apaokagi won the Prize for Content Creation, while Super Falcons forward Rasheedat Ajibade received the Prize for Sports for her contribution to African women’s football.
Veteran comedian Ali Baba was honoured with the Prize for Service to Young People for his mentorship and decades-long influence in the creative industry.
The top honour, Young Person of the Year, went to medical doctor and visual artist Fola David, known for using his work to drive social impact.
Other winners spanned diverse categories, from literature and journalism to governance and technology, reflecting the breadth of youth excellence across Africa.
