An inter-denomination prayer has been organized for a successful second tenure of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq by a Philanthropist and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Honourable Gbenga Oyekunle-Power.
The prayers were led by Reverend Ezekiel Adebayo, Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria, Igbaja branch and Alhaji Saka Yusuf who stood in for Chief Imam of Igbaja Sheikh Akorede.
Addressing a mammoth crowd at Igbaja, Honourable Gbenga Power who described Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as a unique leader with the interest of the masses at heart, said he took the action so that the Governor will continue to enjoy divine guidance.
According to him, it is no longer a matter of necessity but a mandate for the people of Kwara and most especially Igbaja community to give maximum support to Governor AbdulRazaq because he has proven that equity, justice and fairness are possible in governance.
He said Igbaja had never had it so good in terms of infrastructural development and political appointments when the Governor appointed Seven of out of his aides from the town.
In a message to the occasion, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, represented by his former Special Assistant, Inter-party Affairs, Honourable Moshood Alaka who commissioned the secretariat, called for unity of purpose amongst the APC family and thanked Gbenga Power Foundation for donating the edifice to the party in Igbaja.
Also speaking, the APC Chairman in Ifelodun Local Government, Alhaji Lateef Quadir-Oko-Ode said Gbenga Power is a Philanthropist and grassroot politician who must be encouraged to do more for the masses.
There were goodwill messages from other APC stakeholders such as Alhaji AbdulRahman Oyinloye, the TIC Vice Chairperson of Ifelodun Local Government, Princess Folasade Atoyebi, Alhaji Abdulfatai Mustapha, former Special Assistant on Transport to Governor AbdulRazaq, Alhaji Abdulrasheed Awobimpe, APC Chairman Igbaja Ward One, Alhaji Abdulraheem Arije, representative of the member representing Omupo Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Abdulganiyu Salaudeen including a high powered delegation from Oro-Ago.
Honourable Gbenga Power and his entourage were earlier at the Palace of Igbaja, Oba Babalola Awuni-Arepo for royal blessings.
