The Kwara State Commissioner for Youth Development, Ambassador Ndanusa Usman Shehu, has been conferred with the JCI Human Duties Ambassadorial Award by the Junior Chamber International (JCI), University of Ilorin Chapter.
The honour was bestowed during JCI UNILORIN’s 41st Investiture and Convention Ceremony, held at Windgate Hotel and Suites, Ilorin. The award recognises exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to advancing youth empowerment and inclusion in Kwara State.
In his acceptance speech, Amb. Ndanusa Usman Shehu expressed deep appreciation for the recognition, noting that it reflects the transformational impact of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s leadership.
“I proudly dedicate this award to His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. His passion for youth development continues to be the driving force behind the progressive policies we implement,” he said.
He further emphasized the administration’s focus on sustainable youth engagement, leadership training, and inclusive development strategies.
Presenting the award on behalf of the JCI, National Vice President JCIN Amb. Hazzan Kafidipe commended the Commissioner for his hands-on approach and impactful policies that have “positively touched the lives of young people across Kwara and beyond.”
“Kwara is lucky to have a youth commissioner who doesn’t just understand the issues, but is actively working to fix them. Today, we celebrate a true ambassador of change,” Kafidipe added.
The theme of the convention, “Legacy of Leadership: Maximizing Opportunities for Future Excellence,” drew prominent youth leaders, government officials, and development advocates across Nigeria. The event celebrated innovation, civic engagement, and youth-oriented public service.
The Commissioner also urged JCI and similar youth-focused organisations to continue shaping future leaders through community service, innovation, and mentorship.
