Jos – Rev. Sunday Bobai Agang, a senior pastor of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) and chairman of its Board of Trustees, has been released after being abducted from his residence in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The church’s acting Public Relations Officer, Danjuma Auta, confirmed the development, saying, “We wish to announce with immense gratitude and joy the release of our dear pastor, Rev. Prof. Sunday Bobai Agang, who was abducted by unknown gunmen. He has regained his freedom and is currently safe.”
ECWA thanked God for the safe return of the pastor and acknowledged the power of collective prayer. The church also appreciated members who stood in prayer during the ordeal, describing the release as a testament to God’s faithfulness.
While celebrating his freedom, ECWA highlighted the persistent security challenges in the country, calling on all levels of government to protect lives and properties. “The rising wave of kidnapping, which has sadly become a means of livelihood for some, is a threat to our collective existence and must be addressed urgently,” the statement read.
Rev. Agang was abducted on Tuesday morning from his residence in Farin Gada, Jos North LGA. ECWA reaffirmed its commitment to praying for peace in Nigeria and the safety of all citizens.
