The National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, has sympathised with a former Chief of Defence Staff, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Admiral Ola Sa’ad Ibrahim, CFR, on the death of his beloved wife, Hajiya Aminat Modupe Ibrahim.
Hajiya Ibrahim, who was also the immediate elder sister of a veteran journalist, Alhaji Muhammad Tunde Akanbi, died yesterday after a brief illness. She was 69.
In a statement signed by the Union’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Nurudeen Ibrahim, the President, on behalf of the Union, pointed out that the death of Hajiya Ibrahim was a sad and unfortunate development.
The statement described Hajiya Ibrahim as an amiable, diligent and exemplary mother, wife and indigene of Ilorin Emirate who contributed in no small way in supporting the career of her husband which culminated in his emergence as the first and only Chief of Defence Staff produced by Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State at large.
The Union, according to the statement, implored the retired service chief and others who are bereaved to accept the incident as the wish of Allah and take solace in the fact that the deceased lived an exemplary life worthy of being emulated.
While praying to Allah to grant Admiral Ibrahim and other relations and friends the fortitude to bear the death of Hajiya Ibrahim, Alhaji Abdulmalik also prayed to Allah to overlook the shortcomings of the deceased and reward her good deeds with Aljanat Fridaous.
