“If charges against Hushpuppi for laundering money for North Koreans stick, I’ll be with grandkids before he gets out” – BBNaija’s Leo Dasilva

Date:

Reality TV star, Leo Da Silva has reacted to the latest report of Hushpuppi being charged with laundering funds for hackers and bank robbers from North Korea.

It was earlier reported that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has linked embattled Nigerian Instagram socialite, Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, a.k.a Hushpuppi, to North Korean hackers said to be the biggest bank robbers in the world.

The Justice Department in a detailed statement released on Friday, February 19, alleged that Hushpuppi took part in a “North Korean-perpetrated cyber-enabled heist from a Maltese bank in February 2019.” According to the statement, his role was as a collaborator with a North Korean money launderer, Ghaleb Alaumary, 37, based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

The report has generated an uproar on social media and the former BBNaija housemate has also weighed in on the issue.

In reaction, Leo wondered how one will be working with the North Koreans and still be living an extravagant life on social media. He further added that if the new charges stick, he will be with grandkids before Hushpuppi is released from prison.

He tweeted;

“It’s hilarious how you will be laundering money for North Koreans and still be living lavish for the gram. I now see why they did all they can to get him from Dubai. If those charges stick, I will be with grandkids before he gets out.”
